What I Got From Japan-Keychains and Charms

Hello friends! I went to Japan a year ago, but never really posted about what souvenirs I got. Here are the keychains and charms I got while I was there!
Nara deer bag charm

I got this cute little deer charm from Nara. It’s a white deer with pink horns and a pink belly, and it’s also got pink eyebrows.
Osaka octopus bag charm

I got this little octopus from Osaka. His name is Takobee, and he is an unofficial mascot for the city.
Osaka takoyaki bag charm

To match the little Takobee bag charm I got, I also got a takoyaki ball. Takoyaki is a Japanese snack that is made of a wheat-based flour and cooked in a special pan that is shaped like balls. Takoyaki balls contain minced or dried octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger, and green onion. The balls are then brushed with takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise. Finally, bits of nori and bonito are sprinkled on top.
This little guy is reminiscent of the unofficial mascot Takoru-kun, another unofficial Osaka mascot.
Relationship protective charm

I got this relationship protection charm from a local shrine while in Japan. The way these charms work is you carry them around for protection or luck. I got two matching relationship charms because according to instructions, these charms only work when you give one to your significant other.
Success charm

I also got this success charm. I got this because I want my blogs and just myself in general to succeed in life.
Kirby keychain

I got this cute Kirby keychain in an anime store in Akihabara. It features a little snow globe effect with a lot of little Kirbys floating around.
Fox keychain

I got this little fox keychain as foxes are considered a deity in Japan.
Year of the dog charm

I got this year of the dog charm from a local shrine. Japan uses the Chinese zodiac, which is something that I use. I got a rat for my boyfriend as his birth year corresponds to that, and my birth year corresponds to the dog.
Japanese maiden charm

I got this little Japanese maiden charm from Haneda airport. It features a cute little girl wearing a kimono.
Lucky cat charm

I got this lucky cat charm from Haneda as well. The lucky cat is popular in Japanese stores and is commonly used as a symbol to bring in wealth and success.
Buddha Birth Month Charm

I got this little Buddha charm from a local shrine. These charms have different colors according to your birth month. My birth month is October, so the color I got is pink.
Tomoe charm

I got this tomoe charm from Himeji. Tomoe are comma-like symbols that symbolize a clan. This charm is unique and my favorite charm from Japan because it’s beautiful and has a bell inside.
Turtle birth month charm

I got this turtle charm from Himeji as well, and like the birth month charm above, this is also one from October.
Bear birth month charm

I got this little birth month bear charm from another local shrine, and I got a matching one for my boyfriend. His is green, as his birth month is August.
I’d like to know what cool souvenirs you’ve gotten from Japan!
